Kobi Levi: Shoe maker ex·tra·or·di·naire

Kobi Levi graduated from an Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Collaborating with both Israeli and international companies, Kobi is currently working on his women shoe line in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He has designed commercial footwear in both Italy, China and Brazil. His ideas are beyond unique, extravagant and one of a kind. And quite frankly-hilarious.

"In my artistic footwear design the shoe is my canvas. The trigger to create a new piece comes when an idea, a concept and/or an image comes to mind. The combination of the image and footwear creates a new hybrid and the design/concept comes to life. The piece is a wearable sculpture. It is "alive" with/out the foot/body"
His pieces are all hand made and crafted in his very own studio. Kobi says the most challenging part to the technical development is the key to bring the design to life in the best way. In my opinion, he nails it on the head. His craft is beautifully executed and his designs are mind blowing and carefree.

My favorite, the Chewing gum shoe, would be so fun to sport around Downtown Portland! Some are functional, some are more artsy, and all of them are creative and fun. I can't wait to see what else he comes up with. Follow Kobi h e r e.

Let go my LEGO...

I'm sure if you had any sort of childhood, or a brother, you played with LEGO's. My older (and favorite) brother had---oh, excuse me -->HAS boxes of them because our father is a pack rat- I mean, he uh- really enjoys reminiscing about our childhood?

Well if your father is anything like mine, secretly walk up to your attic, dust off a box or two and get to work. Those rainbow colored pieces of plastic can be easily turned into functional artwork.

I am not a fan of Fergie, in fact I think she is total trashhowever, you are NOT. You can make LEGO clothing and look grand. I think a fun idea would be to cover old, chunky jewelry with LEGO's and especially because you could swap them out and change the colors for every outfit!

Or...if your wallet is empty, but full of ideas...the LEGO purse!

Enjoy LEGO lovers!
